Drama: Radiation House (ラジエーションハウス)
Network: Fuji TV
Release Date: April 8, 2019 --
Man, it's been a long time since I write on this blog. Phew.
Let's talk about the new drama in the upcoming season, Radiation House. This drama is adapted from a seinen manga, with the same title, by Yokomaku Takahiro (author) and Mori Taishi (mangaka). I personally read the manga and really enjoy the story so far. It actually has detailed information and easy to understand. Long story short, this is a medical drama about radiology and stuff with a bit romance in it. Japanese medical drama would never disappoint you, I promise. It would be fun and heart-warming.
Anyway, I'm going to quote the synopsis from asianwiki below, enjoy.
Igarashi Iori is a radiographer. He is proud of his job and he is also sincere. He received recognition for his work in the U.S. and he is now back in Japan. Iori Igarashi begins work at a general hospital.
Meanwhile, Amakasu An works as a radiologist at the same hospital where Iori Igarashi now works. Her father is the ex-director of the hospital. She wants to help patients, but she places a priority on administrative rules and running the hospital efficiently. An seems to look down on radiographers who don't possess a doctor's license, but she actually lacks confidence in herself. After An meets Iori, she changes
Anyway, I'm super excited because this drama's casts are so good. Man, I could be super biased but I can totally imagine how they portray the characters.
Let's talk about the main character. First, the hero of the show, Igarashi Iori. The one who plays Iori is Kubota Masataka. Yes, you read that right, it is Kubota Masataka, my ultimate bias of the year (lol). So, Iori is drawn as a quite weird, not sensitive timid guy who posses a super great knowledge about medical stuff. I mean, he is a genius yet he doesn't show it. Anyway, I think Kubota Masataka is perfect for this character because he can be a weird guy and yet serious at the same time. And yes, he is perfect doing a timid guy act!
Now, for the heroine, Amakasu An is portrayed by Honda Tsubasa. This doctor girl is a pouty doctor, whose forehead often frowned and she tends to underestimate the radiographers even though she is not that bright. I love Honda Tsubasa and I believe she can do her job, but personally, I would be happier if the cast were Haru instead of her because Haru has a lot more expressions in my opinion.
That's it. This drama hasn't aired yet so I can't talk much about it. Anyway, it airs on Monday, 8 April 2019, on Fuji TV at 9 pm (GMT+9). お楽しみ~
